After our announcement to postpone the full conference, several people told us they had already booked flights and were hoping they could still get some Drupal love. With this in mind, we've decided that we will organise some form of informal meet-up in place of the conference. However, we don't have details on exactly where/what we'll be doing now and it shouldn't be seen as a formal event. I am envisioning a mid-size group where we can do some short talks/discussions and maybe do some hacking, hopefully for free or very cheap. To gauge numbers, please email me *BY MONDAY* if you would like to be part of the meetup and any ideas you may have for it.
Additionally, we will be having a stand at the CeBIT expo and a few of presentations at the expo's theatre. We need help from people to man the booth and with things like tables/chairs, signs, and marketing type materials to give to the interested expo attendees. You can sign up to man the booth here http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pXcnqgbzn6lPqSR4EACPvSA and if you can help with other supplies, email me or Ashley Maher (ashley.maher AT didymodesigns.com.au). We have also made arrangements for free access into the CeBIT exhibition on each of the three days. You will need to register on-line (http://mycebit.com.au) with the promo code "drupalca08" to gain free entry.
Also, if anyone might know a sponsor that will spring for food/drinks or has a local space to donate, please let me know.
Thanks,
Ryan Cross

Accepting help this time?
I've already mailed a friend who works for a well known global giant and supporter of Drupal and open source in general with offices a short stroll from Darling Harbour. No promises yet but we might at least get an evening spot.
Excellent
Hi Ryan, Ashley & others,
Great that you're looking at organising something. Thank you for your efforts. Will see you there (wherever that is)!
Cheers,
